The Data Analytics and Computational Social Science program teaches students with substantive interests in politics, economics, communication, or other social sciences how to work with data (collecting it, analyzing it, and presenting and communicating about it) to support businesses, non-profits, and government agencies in making evidence-based decisions. We are looking for a Program Researcher who will work under the supervision of Professor Meredith Rolfe (Political Science) and Professor Anthony Paik (Sociology) to support the creation of first-class data science educational tools. The researcher will support the development of an interdisciplinary Introduction to Quantitative Analysis course, with specific tasks including: -> identifying and summarizing evidence-based research into best practices for teaching quantitative methods to students without a STEM background -> finding and summarizing syllabi and course materials from similar courses -> documenting faculty meetings and conversations about course design -> contributing to the creation of innovative course learning materials This position is best suited for students who have taken one or more courses on regression, econometrics, and quantitative analysis (e.g., Econ 452 Econometrics, Stats 515).Read more
