Bio:
My research and teaching focus on political violence, specifically examining the relationships between gender and violent non-state actors. I am particularly interested in women's participation in rebel and terrorist organizations, visual insurgent propaganda, rebel legitimacy, and sexual violence. My research is published in International Studies Quarterly, Security Studies, European Journal of International Security, Feminist Media Studies, Foreign Policy, the Washington Post, and other outlets. I am excited to work with graduate students interested in political violence, gender and conflict, human rights, propaganda, and other areas of international security.
