Peer Advisors

Peer Advisors are upper-level students who are well-trained in the academic requirements for both Political Science and Legal Studies majors. They offer you not only technical information, but also an invaluable student perspective. Peer Advisors will not tell you which classes to take or avoid, but they can help you think about your interests and design a course schedule that serves your needs.

Meet the Peer Advisors

Jayden Whittaker

Hi everyone! I am currently a senior majoring in political science as well as a member of the Commonwealth Honors College at UMass. I joined initially the advising team as an intern and am so excited to be back this year as a peer advisor. My academic interests center around international relations and foreign policy, and I am looking forward to conducting independent research on the subject as part of my honors thesis. During my time at UMass, I have been fortunate enough to take part in two separate study abroad programs. I spent the spring semester of my junior year in Seville, and then traveled to England for six weeks as part of the UMass Oxford Summer Seminar. On campus, I am also a content writer for Her Campus where I love to discuss travel, fashion, and politics.

Lily Meyer

Hi! My name is Lily Meyer and I am currently a senior majoring in political science, with a minor in sociology. I joined the peer advising team as an intern in the fall and I am excited to rejoin the team as a peer advisor for this spring semester! My interests in political science and sociology lie with domestic inequalities focused on how institutions and ingrained prejudice within our political systems equate to the social problems we still face today. Throughout my time here on campus, I have been a member of the female empowerment through fitness organization CHAARG, where I am a small group leader. I have also participated in two research assistant positions within both the political science and sociology departments. Outside of school, I am an avid reader, fitness enthusiast, and fashion lover. I look forward to seeing you in the peer advising office soon!
