Thirty UMass Students Take Part in United Nations Sustainability Course

Thirty UMass Amherst students, including 13 from the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, are taking part in the United Nations Global Sustainable Solutions Winter School, a ten-week course focused on ecosystem-based climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction.  The course runs from early December through the end of January. (UMass News, 12/04/20)

Over the course of the ten-week session, students will hear from academics and practitioners from a range of international government agencies and environmental groups, including the United Nations Environmental Programme, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, and the Nature Conservancy. Students will also take part in class discussions and complete weekly assignments.
