Shulman Gives Invited Lecture at Univ of Haifa, Israel

Stuart Shulman, assistant professor of political science and founder and director of the Qualitative Data Analysis Program at UMass Amherst, was an invited speaker at University of Haifa in Israel. His presentation, "Coding the Twittersphere," explored how and why posts on micro-blogging forums such as Twitter should be gathered, filtered, searched, and analyzed.

While in Israel, Professor Shulman also led a three-day short course on computer-assistant qualitative data analysis. The course was a hands-on review of literature, tools and strategies informing a variety of qualitative research methods.

This trip to Israel marks the end to a busy month of travel for Professor Shulman who previously gave methods talks at the University of Manchester and the Methodology Institute of the London School of Economics.
