Sheldon Goldman, political science, says the federal judges that President Obama appointed during his eight years in office has created an “historic” diversification of the federal bench and created a judiciary that will be more sensitive to issues of racial and gender bias. “Diversity matters,” he says. “Judges reflect who they are. You can’t separate out the judge from his or her lifetime of experiences.” The Washington Times
