Professor La Raja and Ph. D student Samuel Stoddard comments on the re-election of Sen. Rosenberg

Two news stories look at state Sen. Stanley C. Rosenberg, who is running for re-election and awaiting the findings of a ethics investigation into actions of his estranged husband, and Chelsea Kline who is challenging Rosenberg in the Democratic primary. Raymond J. La Raja, political science, says, “Scandals make candidates vulnerable, but it is by no means a death sentence.” Samuel V. Stoddard, a doctoral student in political science, says Kline would normally not have the support of the Democratic party in challenging a senior elected official. He also says there is a new wave of female candidates in this election cycle and that can help Kline. (Gazette, Gazette, 4/26/18)
