Political Science major wins 2nd prize in Foreign Policy Association’s student essay competition

Clara Silverstein, a political science major, has been awarded 2nd prize in the Foreign Policy Association’s (FPA) 2018 Student Essay and Video competition. Students from all around the country were invited by the FPA to submit an essay or video on the topic: “What is America’s biggest challenge in the world?”

In her winning essay, Silverstein states that the biggest challenge for the United States “is maintaining an active voice in the conversation on global climate change and contributing to the effort of reducing further damage.” She goes on to say that “climate change threatens to affect every aspect of the modern world…making it the greatest problem that the United States will have to deal with in the coming years.”
