Haas Explores Environmental Governance Gaps at Univ of Idaho

Peter Haas, Professor of Political Science, was an invited participant at the University of Idaho College of Law Roundtable  "Crossing Governance Gaps to Protect the Environment" from April 28-30, 2011.

The roundtable discussion brought together "10 leading scholars and international policymakers with expertise in international environmental law, political science, environmental science, environmental economics, and international relations together with University of Idaho faculty and alumni for an in-depth dialogue over three pressing themes that mark gaps in international environmental governance."

Participants explored the gap between the production of scientific research and its translation into legal policy, the gaps between international policymaking and domestic implmentation, the role of non-state actors in international environmental policymaking, and potential reforms to the United Nations Environmental Programme. Further details about the roundtable are available on the event website.
