PhD student Tyler Schuenemann has received a 2015-2016 Fulbright Scholarship to continue his dissertation research in Oman. Tyler will use the Fulbright funding to investigate the responses to climate-related disasters in Oman in order to document how the impetus to recover from, and anticipate the next disaster is impacting how state institutions and civic organizations govern life and an unknown future.
Tyler holds a B.A. in Philosophy and History from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Toronto. He has also studied at the New School’s Graduate Program of International Affairs, University of Damascus, and Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Tyler’s research interests focus on contemporary political theory and comparative politics, specifically the relationship between conceptions of time and political participation.
