Congratulations to graduate student Alix Olson on her new APSA position and research associateship

Please join us is congratulating Alix Olson, a doctoral candidate in our program, on her recent awards and accomplishments: 

Alix Olson was elected Program Chair for the section "Caucus for a New Political Science" for the 2018 APSA annual meeting to be held in Boston, MA after serving as the Caucus Representative for the past two years. Her responsibility involves selecting papers/panels as well as choosing plenary speakers for the 2018 APSA annual meeting. The mission of New Political Science is “to make the study of politics relevant to the struggle for a better world".

Alix also received a 2016-2017 Five College Women's Studies Research Center Associateship this year.  Her research is entitled “Resilient Conscripts: Resistance Under Neoliberalism.” Information about Alix’s research and portfolio can be found on the Five College Women’s Studies Research Center web page: https://www.fivecolleges.edu/fcwsrc/associates#AY

Alix Olson is a PhD Candidate in Political Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She holds a Certificate in Advanced Feminist Studies. Her research interests include contemporary political theory, feminist and queer studies, the politics of protest, and art and activism.
