The Data Analytics and Computational Social Science program teaches students with substantive interests in politics, economics, communication, or other social sciences how to collect, analyze, and communicate about data in order to support evidence-based decision-making at businesses, non-profits, and government agencies.
We are looking for a Program Researcher in Educational Technology who will work under the supervision of Professor Meredith Rolfe (Political Science) to create first-class data science educational tools. The program researcher will design and build interactive web-based tutorials and assignments that introduce data science analysis and visualization to students with a minimal background in programming.
Specific task may include: - identify the functional building blocks of core data science topics - develop working example code using social science datasets - create interactive tutorials that scaffold core concepts for optimal learning
This position is best suited for students who are comfortable working in R and/or Python. Additionally, some experience with Google Colab is useful but not necessary.
