Interests:

My dissertation project - which draws on both archival data and quantitative analysis - focuses on how the development of veterans' benefits (through efforts of political coalition actors) has affected the concurrent development of parallel universal social policies, specifically in the fields of education and healthcare. My other research interests include American civil-military relations; war and American state-building; race, gender, and public opinion; and geographic analyses of public opinion data.
