Interests:

I'm a PhD Candidate in the Anthropology Department. I am being trained in cultural and linguistic anthropology. My geographic specialization is Europe, especially urban Germany. My current work is in Berlin, Germany, where I'm investigating the mutually implicated developments of anti-immigrant Islamophobia and tolerance and qualified support for sexual minorities in contemporary European cultural politics.

Education:
I received my BA from Western Michigan University--my degree was in Islamic Studies (minored in German Studies). I received my MA from UMass, Amherst in Anthropology.
