Home > Wing, Katsh Serve as Observers to UN Online Dispute Resolution Working Group

March 23, 2014

Body:

Legal Studies Professors Leah Wing and Ethan Katsh are part of a delegation from the National Center for Technology and Dispute Resolution (NCTDR) to serve as invited observers to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Working Group III on Online Dispute Resolution from March 24-28, 2014.

The working group will use the sessions to investigate if new guidelines and rules are necessary to facilitate conflict resolution associated with cross-border electronic commerce and transactions, especially in light of increased use of online dispute settlement mechanisms.

Professors Wing and Katsh are co-directors of NCTDR [1], a research center which supports and sustains the development of information technology applications, institutional resources, and theoretical and applied knowledge to better understand and manage conflict.

A full schedule of the UN meetings is available here [2].
