Lisa Solowiej has taught classes at Binghamton University, the University of Houston, and the University of North Texas, as well as on-line courses at UMass Amherst. Her courses focus on American law and politics, with a particular emphasis on race, gender, and ethnicity. Her interests include the US Congress, social movements, and gender studies, with special interest in women as members of Congress and as judges. Her publications include research on counteractive lobbying in the Supreme Court, the confirmation of minority and female federal judges, and the entrance of women into the US Congress.
