My research interests focus on female sexuality and financialization of female sexual health. I completed my MA project on the conceptualization of virginity and alternative forms of resistance through a case study of hymen reconstruction surgery (hymenoplasty) in Turkey. My thesis also analyzed the kinds of female subjectivities formed between a surveilling patriarchal gaze and a highly capitalized health "industry".
I hope to develop my research as empirically-informed political theory while extending my knowledge in Biopolitics, Critical Theory and Feminist theory with a special focus on the formation of collective feelings through different ideological and institutional apparatuses.
