David E. Floreen is Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Trust Services for the Massachusetts Bankers Association in Boston. The Association provides legislative, educational, research and insurance services to over 170 commercial, savings and co-operative banks and federal savings and loan associations throughout Massachusetts. Mr. Floreen is responsible for coordinating state government affairs for the Association in Boston, is actively involved in expanding financial literacy awareness in schools and colleges, and directs Mass Bankers PAC. He also manages all trust division activities for the Association, including several educational programs. He has played a key role for the banking community for over 35 years in the development and subsequent implementation of numerous legislative and regulatory initiatives regarding environmental, deposit account, commercial and trust banking activities. He is also responsible for the preparation and editing of the annual Massachusetts Banking Law Book, the Massachusetts Regulatory Manual, the Handbook on Deposit and Fiduciary Accounts, the Internet edition of all three publications, plus the complete version of the Massachusetts Uniform Commercial Code. Mr. Floreen is also a senior lecturer in the College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University where he teaches several courses in political science.
