NCDG Hosts Symposium on Institutional Perspectives in Digital Government

On Monday, June 8, 2015, the National Center for Digital Government hosted a research symposium—the Symposium on Institutional Perspectives in Digital Government Research--to examine institutional perspectives on digital government research.

A range of digital government experts delivered papers. They include J. Ramon Gil-Garcia, Associate Professor at the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Research Director of the Center for Technology and Government at the University at Albany, State University of New York; Seok-Jin Eom, Associate Professor of Public Administration at Seoul National University; NCDG Fellow, doctoral candidate and Fulbright-Schuman grantee, Nele Leosk, European University Institute, Florence, Italy; Obed Pasha, Lecturer at the Center for Public Policy and Administration, UMass Amherst; and Luis F. Luna-Reyes, Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics at the College of Computing and Information, University at Albany, State University of New York.

Jane Fountain, Director of the National Center for Digital Government, is Distinguished University Professor of Political Science and Public Policy. She moderated the symposium and remarked: “Advanced in digital government research are at the core of building our understanding of the ways in which governments globally seek to use the Internet and associated technologies to improve the well-being of their people. Sharing knowledge across country boundaries has always been a hallmark of NCDG research and network building among experts.” The National Center for Digital Government was launched in 2001 with generous support from the National Science Foundation. The one-day symposium was held in Gordon Hall with support from the NCDG and the Center for Public Policy & Administration. The symposium program is available at ncdg.org
