The Human Security Lab at UMass Amherst is pleased to announce this Fall's inaugural Peace and Human Security lecture by Professor Severine Autesserre from Barnard College of Columbia University. Professor Autesserre will talk about her new book, The Frontlines of Peace: An Insider's Guide to Changing the World. This exciting new work asks what strategies have worked to build lasting peace in conflict zones and provides key takeaways for radical changes we need to make to build lasting peace around us.
Professor Autesserre is an award-winning author, peacebuilder, and researcher. She has worked intimately with the world of international aid for over twenty years, conducting research in conflict zones, including Colombia, Somalia, Israel and Palestine and with Doctors Without Borders and at the United Nations Headquarters. Her work has been critical in shaping policy, non-profit work, philanthropy, and activism.
